Hope. Compassion. Healing. Connection.
Welcome
My name is Kristi Knight.
I am a licensed mental health counselor and owner of Mind Body Counseling.
I have expertise in a variety of mind-body therapies that I use in my clinical approach including Polyvagal Informed Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, Attachment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Neurofeedback.
“I believe meeting people where they are—is the best place to start—through the lens of their nervous system patterns”.
I work with clients exhibiting a variety of nervous system states such as feeling overwhelmed, shut down, frozen, on edge, or on high alert.
Sound familiar? Working together, we explore your nervous system patterns, thoughts, behaviors, narratives and any physical sensations that might also surface.
I believe healing and health happen when we feel connected to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Healing is a journey requiring a felt sense of safety with an attuned therapist that supports curiosity, compassion, and connection.
I would love to support you in your journey.
Mind Body Services
-
Mind-body counseling
We utilize mind-body therapies such as Polyvagal Informed Therapy, Mindfulness, Somatic therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy to address the root cause of symptoms, emotional blocks and pain.
These approaches integrate bodily awareness and emotions, exploring them through the lens of the nervous system and fostering a deeper connection between the body and mind.
-
Brainspotting
This unique therapy does not require language or cognitive processing of physiological or emotional distress.
The brainspotting process consists of finding “brainspots” in our visual field that contain neurobiological information found deep within our subcortical brain structures that allow us to process information and bring greater relief with less talking.
Brainspotting can be used for anything you want to process such as trauma, anxiety, stress, overwhelm, grief, injury and PTSD.
-
Neurofeedback Training
Neurofeedback Training is an advanced brain training technology that works with the brain to promote self-organization and optimal functioning using the brain’s own natural resources.
There are no age requirements to begin training, no diagnosis or brain map is necessary. NeurOptimal® neurofeedback is FDA approved as a General Wellness Device.
We offer in office training and home rental units for training in the comfort of your home.
FAQs
-
A common misconception is that therapy is for those who are experiencing a crisis, when in fact, therapy is for anyone that wants support, growth or change in their life. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy.

My approach to the frequency of appointments is flexible and we will discuss this in your first appointment. I like to start with some consistency to get in a rhythm and then we can always adjust based on availability for both of our schedules. To give you some idea/expectation, you may come weekly the first month and then adjust to bi-weekly and then progress to monthly.
-
Therapy is flexible and there is not a one size fits all answer or approach that works for everyone. There are many reasons people seek therapy and depending on a variety of factors, some may need shorter or longer time frames to accomplish their goals in therapy, or some people may want ongoing support available.
-
Appointments look different based on your needs and goals. The first couple of appointments, I will be gathering information about what you want to gain from therapy.
Some common things to expect:
Identifying strengths and values
Looking at coping skills, past and present
Nervous system mapping and education
Identifying resources specific to your needs and education on topics to support growth and understanding
Identifying emotions, body sensations and movement
